Template > Response Spectrum NCSE-07 (Spain)

Macro for generation of the elastic response spectrum according to NCSE-07 (Spain).

The generated variables will be stored at Properties > Variables and can be used when defining the Earthquake Load . The variable describing the response spectrum will be given in terms of (Sa/ac) and (Sva/ac) as a function of the period T(s).

Therefore the respective design ground acceleration ac should be considered when defining the vectors within the earthquake load definition .

SettingDescription
Option: Horizontal/Vertical Selection of the response spectra to be generated
Type

Type of the response spectrum.

Sismo ultimo de calculo

Sismo frecuente de calculo

Sismo de construcción

TA = K C/10 TA = K C/s0
TB = K C/2.5 TB = K C/5
TC = K (2 + C) TC = K (1 + 0.5C)

Selecting Type and Ground Type will automatically fill the default values of TA, TB and TC according to above definitions. User-defined values can be given when selecting the option User-defined in Type.

Ground type

Ground type of the response spectrum.

Tipo de terreno Coeficiente C
I 1.0
II 1.3
III 1.6
IV 2.0
K (-)  Terrain Coefficient  [1.0 ; 1.3]
TA(s) Lower limit of the period of the constant spectral acceleration branch
TB(s) Upper limit of the period of the constant spectral acceleration branch
TC(s) Value defining the beginning of the constant displacement response range of the spectrum (in seconds)
Damping ratio (%) Viscous damping ratio in terms of percent ( > 1 )
ny (-)

Damping correction factor (dimensionless)

(Evaluated from Damping ratio and informatively displayed)

Output variable

Name of the variable that describes the response spectrum

A two-digit alpha-numeric suffix can be added to that names.

The default name will be set up as NCSE07Sa and NCSE07Sva respectively.
